I ordered six of these bottles with the hopes that they would live up to the glowing reviews. We noticed that our daughter was choking and coughing every time we used one of the ilo bottles. We finally realized it was the rate of flow from the nipple that was causing her to choke -- despite using a Stage 1 nipple the milk would literally squirt out of the bottle with force when turned upside down. We tested all of our nipples and this happened with 5/6. Super disappointed as I really wanted like these bottles.
My baby prefers laying down versus sitting in his rocker so I was really excited to try this out. The baby lounger was bigger than I expected but that's a plus since my baby is on the taller side. The cover can be removed and washed which is necessary for keeping it clean. There are even mesh pockets along one side for convenient holding of burp cloths or a bottle. The other side has a cloth handle for easy carrying and the entire thing is fairly lightweight. I've been using this all around the house and it's really convenient‰ÛÓI hated having to move the rocker from room to room. The lounger itself is super comfortable and has raised edges to keep the baby in place. I wish I had an adult sized one for myself! ilo makes some great products.
My son had a tremendous amount of gas and was always in pain for the first 7 weeks of life. I tried so many bottles and switched formulas but nothing seemed to work. We found out at 7 weeks that he was lip and tongue tied. After the revision the dentist recommended Dr. Browns bottles so he could latch better. I'm not sure if anyone reading this has ever used those bottles but they have so many parts to clean and even with a tiny pipe cleaner bristle brush! It sucked! He also spit up every time he burped and even when he wouldn't burp. I endured those bottles for 3 weeks before seeing a YouTube review on ilo bottles. Then looked it up on Facebook and read even more reviews. I ordered the blue set with a size 1 nipple and received them 4 days later (today)! I can tell you that after just one use I will be using these and nothing else. I could see the air bubbles that my son wasn't getting and I could feel the vent working. He was much easier to burp and didn't spit up!
I've come to love ilo very quickly. When I first ordered my package was lost in transit (which is not their fault) and they quickly sent me a replacement so I've found their customer service unmatched, really. I've had this sippy cup for about four months. I bought the week before my daughters first birthday and she took the transition from bottle to this sippy within two days. Admittedly I had two problems with ilos sippy cup at first. When you use the hard straw it's hard to get the drink out even for me so my daughter prefers to not use it so the con to that is [without the hard straw and] because of the lid shape there's always a good few ounces you can't get out without refilling the drink and you're back to the same problem. My second problem was a bit of a learning curve; it's instinctual to close your child's sippy as tight as you can but I've found that with ilo if you close too tightly it causes it to leak. You have to find that one spot that isn't too loose or too tight and then it works exactly how it should which is less of a problem than the first mentioned. Other than that I love the minimalist style, colors, overall design and all branding. It's my favorite for my daughter and fits in my 2018 fawn design backpack pockets and her maxi code car seat cupholder.
